Sentencing Date Scheduled For Hollywood Arsonist

In March, Dmitriy Sheyko was found to be legally sane for the 19 felony counts of arson he committed in 2011.

A sentencing date is now scheduled to be set Sept. 26 for Dmitry Sheyko, who admitted setting a series of fires at a Hollywood synagogue and exclusive homes in Benedict Canyon.

Earlier this year, a judge found that he was sane at the time of the crimes. Dept. 108, Criminal Courts Building, 210 W. Temple St., Los Angeles.

Sheyko was arrested in April 2011 for 19 felony counts stemming that he set fire to homes on Beverly Ridge Terrace and a classroom at the Temple of Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

Sheyko pled not guilty by reason of insanity on Feb. 26. Now, he could be sentenced with up to 21 years in prison.
