SigAlert: Woman Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver On 101 Freeway

A big rig driver is wanted in connection with a hit and run crash that killed a woman on the Hollywood (101) Freeway Monday.

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA — A woman was struck and killed by a big rig and another vehicle as she was exiting her car on the Hollywood (101) Freeway Monday morning. The big rig fled the scene of the crash, and the California High Patrol issued a SigAert, shutting down all southbound lanes of the freeway.

The crash occurred at 4:46 a.m. on the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway at the Pilgrimage Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a big rig hit the woman's gray Toyota sedan as she was getting out of the car. The driver of another car also reported striking the Toyota.

The victim was believed about 30-years-old, the CHP said.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert at 5:03 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes just north of the bridge. The freeway was reopened by 10 a.m. Monday.
