Suspect Killed In Hollywood Hills Botched Robbery Is Named

The coroner's office released the name of the 19-year-old who police say was killed while trying to rob three victims Friday morning.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The name of a robbery suspect killed in a shootout with the security guard of a high profile Fashion Nova executive during a botched robbery in the Hollywood Hills has been released.

19-year-old Ethan Wilson, a Los Angeles resident died at the scene, the coroner's office said. The security guard was critically wounded, while the other two victims were hospitalized in stable condition.

The crime took place around 2:05 a.m. at 1474 Blue Jay Way, according to Los Angeles Police Officer Joe Todd. The suspects followed a Rolls-Royce occupied by Fashion Nova CEO Richard Saghian, according to TMZ.com.

"We're told it's unclear if they were aware Saghian was traveling in the vehicle, or if they only followed it because of the Rolls' value," TMZ reported. "Law enforcement sources tell us the suspects ordered two men who were traveling in the Rolls with Richard to the ground and took jewelry. ... Richard had already gone inside his home. We're told Richard's security came out of the home and that's when the shootout started."

LAPD said that outside the house, three suspects wearing ski masks and carrying handguns jumped out of a gray Audi and forced two victims onto the ground, taking their watches and jewelry. An armed security guard exchanged gunfire with the suspects, wounding two of them.

"The security guard sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital," LAPD said Friday afternoon. "The two robbery victims were also struck by gunfire and are currently in stable condition at a local hospital."

Police said the injured suspects got back in their car and fled the scene, before LAPD officers later caught up to them near Santa Monica Boulevard and Doheny Avenue.

Officers discovered that one suspect was shot in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at scene," the LAPD said. "The second suspect was shot in the ankle and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition."
