Thief Steals US Soccer Star Allie Long's Key To The City
Hours after New York gave World Cup champ Allie Long a key to the city, a thief stole it and her wedding ring from her LA hotel room.

LOS ANGELES, CA — New York City gave U.S. Women's National Team player Allie Long a key to the city and within hours, it was stolen from her hotel room in the Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles. Welcome to LA where it seems you're not a star until you've been burglarized.
Long took to social media Thursday evening to vent her dismay. She and her teammates were in town to bet honored for their World Cup victory at the ESPY awards Wednesday. She was the second visiting soccer star to be burglarized in Los Angeles this week, and the latest in a long line of athletes, movie stars and musicians targeted based on their highly publicized schedule.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the burglary was reported Thursday afternoon, and an investigation determined it occurred Wednesday evening, between 8:45 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Her teammate, Alex Morgan, expressed her support in a tweet that read, "I am furious for you."
Long is just the latest professional athletes or celebrities targeted in Los Angeles.
Earlier this week, thieves overnight broke into the Hollywood Hills home where English soccer player Daniel Sturridge is staying and stole his dog among other valuables.
The athlete took to social media Tuesday to plead for the return of his Pomeranian Lucci, an instagram celebrity in his own fluffy right. Sturridge' video on instagram shows a shattered glass door and a a clearly distraught Sturridge asking for help finding his beloved pup.
``Somebody stole my dog. I'll pay anything. I want him back," he said.
Fortunately, Los Angeles isn't heartless, and within hours, someone had returned the beloved pup to Sturridge although no arrests have been announced in the burglary.
