Todd McLellan Named Kings Head Coach
The Los Angeles Kings hired former Sharks and Oilers Coach Todd McLellan to help the team rebuild following a dismal season.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Former Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks head coach Todd McLellan was named Tuesday the coach of the Los Angeles Kings.
McLellan, 51, will be the team's third head coach in four seasons. He will officially replace interim head coach Willie Desjardins, who piloted the team following the firing of John Stevens in November.
McLellan will be formally introduced at a Wednesday morning news conference at the Kings Off-Ice Training Center at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

He has nearly 11 seasons of NHL head-coaching experience, spending three-plus seasons with the Oilers and seven with the Sharks. He won a Stanley Cup as an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008.
McLellan has a career head-coaching record of 434-282-90.
