Tommy Lasorda Recovering From Infection In Intensive Care: Report
Tommy Lasorda is expected to be released from a Los Angeles hospital intensive care unit this week, according to reports: BREAKING.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda is expected to be released from the hospital later this week after spending several days in intensive care, according to reports.
Few details have been released about the baseball legend's illness. Lasord suffers from heart problems and has been hospitalized repeatedly this year. On Saturday Dodgers public relations manager Dai Sugiura confirmed Lasorda's hospitalization but offered no further details.
"(Lasorda) is resting comfortably and appreciates all of the support," a Dodger statement said.

TMZ.com cited an unnamed source in reporting that Lasorda is recovering from an infection.Lasorda suffered a heart attack in 2012 and continues to be an advisor for the Dodgers, the team he managed for 20 years from you 1976 to 1996.
The Orange County Register reported Saturday that the 89-year-old baseball Hall of Famer is in intensive care at a Los Angeles hospital, where he's been for days.

The newspaper said that several of Lasorda's former players have been in contact with him at the hospital.
Lasorda -- a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame -- guided the team to four World Series appearances, including championships in 1981 and 1988.
He appeared at Dodger Stadium last month for the unveiling of a statue honoring Jackie Robinson.
