Unauthorized Leaks Of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Lead To Copyright Suit

The Hollywood production company behind "RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars" sued those who uploaded pre-broadcast material to social media.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The Hollywood production company behind VH1's "RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars" Thursday sued unidentified persons who have uploaded unauthorized pre-broadcast material from the show on social media.

World of Wonder Productions filed the copyright infringement complaint in Los Angeles federal court against the anonymous "John Doe's" behind "RealityTVLeaks" which appeared on Instagram and Twitter. Both accounts were apparently out of service Thursday.

Attorneys for the production company allege that whoever is behind "RealityTVLeaks" removed copyright information identifying WOW as the owner of the uploaded episodes and added misleading copyright management information to the clips, falsely identifying themselves as the copyright owners, according to the lawsuit.
