WATCH: Car Plows Into Melrose Sneaker Store
The car ran over a street sign and drove straight through the glass storefront before attempting to drive off.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A large SUV drove onto the sidewalk and careened into a sneaker store in the Fairfax District late Monday night. Coolkicks, a popular streetwear store on Melrose Avenue that buys and trades sneakers, was rammed into around 8:30 p.m.
Footage of the crash shows the car driving perpendicular to the street, running over a street sign and bursting through the glass before reversing and attempting to drive off.

Authorities said they believe the crash was intentional and that the same SUV had been stolen in Venice on Sunday. The car was later discovered abandoned a few blocks away from the scene, and the suspect was later arrested according to CBSLA.
A motive for the crash was not yet known.

The morning after the crash, Coolkicks announced their storefront wouldn't be open.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we will be closed today," the shop wrote. "We will be buying shoes at @thecoolbycoolkicks From 11-8pm."
