What's New On Netflix: April 2021

This April, Netflix land is beaming with élan and excitement, thanks to the streaming platform’s refreshing brand-new slate of offerings.

Among the original movies to look forward to this month are the Western drama “Concrete Cowboy,” starring Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin as a father-son duo coping with their estranged relationship. Plus, don’t miss out on the sci-fi thriller “Stowaway,” featuring Anna Kendrick, Toni Collette and Daniel Dae Kim as a spaceship crew headed to Mars.

And if you’re looking for a new superhero comedy, look no further than “Thunder Force,” starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as two childhood best friends who become a pair of crime-fighting superheroes.

Meanwhile, a few Netflix original series will also make their debut including “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!”, “Shadow and Bone,” and new seasons of “Prank Encounters,” “The Wedding Coach” and “The Circle.”

Original docuseries hitting the streaming service throughout the month include “Worn Stories,” “The Serpent” and “This Is a Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist,” as well as “Life in Color with David Attenborough.”

Popular films including “Legally Blonde,” “The Zookeeper's Wife,” “Miss Sloane,” “August: Osage County,” “The Pianist,” “The Master” and “Yes Man” are also available for your streaming pleasure.

Last but not least, Netflix welcomes the arrival of “Dolly Parton: A Musicares Tribute,” a star-studded concert in Parton’s honor, featuring tribute performances from Pink (“Jolene”), Chris Stapleton (“9 to 5”), Miley Cyrus, Shawn Mendes and Mark Ronson (“Islands in the Stream”) and many others.
