What's New On Netflix: December 2019

Counting down the days until the holidays? Well, Netflix has all the holiday cheer to ring in the season with its latest releases in movies, TV shows and Netflix Originals.

Many of the feel-good Christmas offerings include “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby,” “Home for Christmas,” “A Family Reunion: Christmas” and “Spirit Riding Free: Spirit of Christmas.”

This December also brings the streaming debut of Netflix’s “Marriage Story.” This highly anticipated Oscar contender stars Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson as a married couple experiencing marital problems. “The Two Popes,” another Netflix drama riding a groundswell of Oscar buzz, debuts on Netflix in December, starring Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce as two pontiffs — Pope Benedict and Pope Francis— who are suddenly thrust into theological sparring.

Other highlights available for your streaming pleasure include the Henry Cavill-led fantasy-horror “The Witcher,” Ryan Reynolds’ action-thriller “6 Underground,” family favorite “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” the "Austin Powers" trilogy and the return of “Fuller House” for its fifth and final season.

Last but not least, those looking for movies to binge-watch on New Year’s Eve should look no further than Pierce Brosnan’s all four James Bond films: “The World Is Not Enough,” GoldenEye,” “Tomorrow Never Dies” and “Die Another Day.”
