What's New On Netflix: June 2021

It might not be summer just yet, but things are already sizzling in Netflix land as a treasure trove of brand-new original offerings will make its way to the streaming platform in the coming weeks.

This June, the heartfelt film “Fatherhood” makes its screen debut, starring Kevin Hart as a recently widowed father struggling to raise his daughter on his own. Plus, the action thriller “The Ice Road” dazzles with Liam Neeson as an ice driver attempting to save the lives of trapped miners in a collapsed diamond mine.

If you’re looking for a sci-fi thriller, look no further than “Awake,” starring Gina Rodriguez as a former soldier battling an unexplained insomnia in the face of a global catastrophe. And if romantic comedies are your cup of tea, don't miss out on “Good on Paper,” in which Iliza Shlesinger plays a stand-up comic who suddenly meets Mr. Right out of the blue.

Netflix also welcomes the premiere of the fantasy drama “Sweet Tooth,” an original show based on Jeff Lemire’s comic book, as well as the return of the international crime comedy, “Lupin,” for Season 2. Also joining the stable are new seasons of “Too Hot to Handle,” “Feel Good,” “Elite,” “Black Summer,” “Kim’s Convenience” and “L.A.’s Finest.”

Meanwhile, anyone in the mood for lighthearted offerings can look forward to streaming the animated film “Wish Dragon” and the nature docuseries “Penguin Town.”

Finally, a few popular movie gems are also available for your streaming pleasure, including “Million Dollar Baby,” “Fools Rush In,” “Swordfish” and “Stand by Me.”
