What's New On Netflix: May 2021

It’s May, Netflix fans! Get excited to bask in the glow of fantabulous streaming, as all those April showers have made way for the arrival of long-anticipated originals in Netflix land.

This month, “Jupiter’s Legacy” finally makes its screen debut on May 7. Based on Mark Millar’s popular comic book series, the epic superhero drama delves into the long-simmering tensions and conflicts between the legendary superheroes and their heirs, starring Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb and Ben Daniels.

Other much-awaited original shows making their way to the streaming platform this month include the return of “Master of None” for Season 3, after a lengthy hiatus of four years, as well as the premieres of “Halston” and “The Upshaws.”

New seasons of “The Kominsky Method,” “Lucifer,” “Castlevania,” “Selena,” “Love, Death & Robots," “Special” and “Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous” are also available for your streaming pleasure.

Netflix also welcomes a number of highly anticipated new original films. One is “The Woman in the Window,” a psychological thriller starring Amy Adams as an agoraphobic child psychologist who suddenly witnesses a murder. Another is "Monster," a legal drama in which Kelvin Harrison Jr. plays an academically gifted teen fighting for his innocence. Other notable new movie releases premiering this month include the zombie thriller “Army of the Dead” and the animated “Jungle Beat: The Movie.”

Last but not least, let’s not forget a few popular movie gems in this month's lineup, including “Mystic River,” “The Pelican Brief,” “Notting Hill” and the entire collection of “Back to the Future” trilogy.
