What's New On Netflix: November 2017

Horror fans, rejoice! The Halloween season will be extended by one more day — at least in the land of Netflix and chills — as the streaming giant welcomes the first day of November with a slate of fright-themed movies, including “Men in Black,” “Scary Movie,” “Silent Hill” and “Oculus.”

And there are other non-scary Netflix selections in store for everyone’s streaming pleasure throughout the month. The most anticipated release is Marvel’s “The Punisher,” starring Jon Bernthal as a gun-toting vigilante. Other highlights include the final season of “Longmire”; Steven Soderbergh’s limited Western series, “Godless”; Jim Carrey’s documentary, “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond”; and Dee Rees’s post-Civil War drama, “Mudbound.” Fans of "Handmaid's Tale" can look forward to the already buzzed-about "Alias Grace," a miniseries about an Irish immigrant/murderess that is also based on a Margaret Atwood novel.

As for family flicks, “9,” “Boss Baby,” “Casper,” “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" and the live-action “Charlotte’s Web” will also make their splash.

Finally, those looking for a good dose of comedy will find plenty of lighthearted offerings, like Spike Lee’s romantic comedy “She’s Gotta Have It,” Season 2 of “Trailer Park Boys: Out of the Park” and comedy specials from Deray Davis and Brian Regan.
