Enjoy Summer Afternoon Tea Al Fresco at Chado Tea Room

Chado Tea Room has been serving hard-to-find high quality teas from across the globe for more than thirty years. Since 1990, this family owned business has been offering afternoon tea in Pasadena, Hollywood, Downtown LA and Torrance.

Owners Reena Shah, Bianca Shah, Brendan Shah and Tekeste Mehreteab source Chado’s teas from around the globe offering a variety of flavor profiles.

We stopped by the Pasadena location to try their afternoon tea and were seated outside on the patio under a big tent. Chado Pasadena has extended their inside service beyond the sidewalk to allow guests to enjoy an al fresco tea service. Diners can also sit indoors in the pretty main dining room.

Our Celebration Afternoon Tea began with a choice of their cream of tomato soup or a mixed salad. Also included is a large three-tiered rack of four half sandwiches on toasted bread. Sandwiches include a salmon and cream cheese; smoked chicken, cranberry and mayonnaise; egg salad and cucumber and cheese.

Scones are also included and come with cream, jam and fresh berries. Dessert includes a selection of macaroons and butter cookies.

The Chado Afternoon Tea Service omits the beginning appetizer course. Guests can also a wide variety of salads, paninis and sandwiches off of the main menu.

There are dozens of black, oolong, green, white, yellow and pu-erh teas to select for afternoon tea. Chado offers more than 300 tea selections to choose from.

Inside the Pasadena tearoom are beautiful displays of tea, teacups and teapots.
