Iconic Casa Vega Restaurant Launches Charitable Margarita

The iconic Casa Vega restaurant has teamed with actress Dakota Fanning to offer a limited time special “The Dakota” margarita. The margarita, made with Don Julio Reposado, thyme-infused honey simple syrup Cointreau and fresh lemon juice, is a perfect accompaniment for the restaurant’s many Mexican dishes.

“I have been coming to Casa Vega for as long as I can remember, and I am so honored to share this super summery honey thyme margarita with everyone,” said Fanning.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Dakota on this thirst quenching cocktail we know our fans will love, “ said owner Christina Vega.

Running throughout June, the margarita is one in a series of celebrity collaborations that give back to those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Profits from every margarita sold during June will be donated to No Us Without You, a non-profit charity that seeks to provide food security to undocumented back-of-house staff and their families.

Casa Vega has been serving up satisfying Mexican cuisine for more than 60 years. Famous for their huge selection of margaritas and tequilas, they also offer a variety of custom cocktails and beers from Mexico.

Specialties of the house include chicken with tomatillo salsa and guacamole; chicken with red mole sauce; fajitas; diced chicken or steak in a tomato and bell pepper sauce; flank steak, chicken, shrimp and a green chile relleno; taquitos; a carne asada con enchilada and their Sonora tacos. The menu also includes a large variety of salads, tostadas, burritos and vegan options. Desserts include flan, churros, fried ice cream and sorbet.
