Summer dineL.A. Includes More Than 400 Restaurants
15-day dining event offers specially priced lunch and dinner menus at LA's hottest eateries

Beginning July 12, Winter dineL.A. offers Angelinos specially priced lunch and dinner menus at over 400 LA restaurants.

Diners can enjoy lunch meals ranging from $15 to $35 and dinner meals ranging from $29 to $59. Additionally, dineL.A.’s summer program includes the addition of a new tier of dinner only tasting menus with five and over courses costing $99 and over. Diners can enjoy menus at LA’s elite eateries including Spago Beverly Hills, CUT, Scratch Bar & Kitchen, Providence, Melisse, Hotel Bel Air and others.

On July 9, dineL.A hosted a kick-off event at Atrium offering a preview of dineL.A. dishes from the Silverlake restaurant. The special $49 dineL.A. menu included a huge plate of grilled focaccia with kimchi butter; crispy spicy Brentwood corn with bulgogi aioli, cheddar, green onion and gochukaru; Hamachi crudo with peach leche de tigre; pasta with roasted tomatoes and shiso; grilled cauliflower shawarma; curry rubbed hanger steak and strawberry tomato polenta and avocado mousse for dessert. Our table’s favorites were the spicy corn and hanger steak. We also loved the al fresco patio dining. The dineL.A. folks and Voodoo Donuts provided a large box full of delicious donuts for us to take home.

I also ventured to the Beverly Center to try the Yardbird menu. Both appetizers, the charred heirloom tomato soup with a Parmesan crisp and the deviled eggs with smoked trout roe were tasty. They also included a country ham and arugula flatbread with lemon ricotta and honey spiced carrots with field pea hummus as appetizer dishes. Entrees included the Yardbird hot Chicken with a Nashville hot dip and Texas toast; a Creole spiced salmon filet with stuffed squash blossom and a sweet tea braised short rib with stone ground grits and carrots. We chose the chicken, which was way too hot to eat, and the short rib, which was delicious.

Desserts included mini beignets and deep fried Oreos. The Yardbird dinner was $39 per person.

Saving the best and most abundant for last, I tried the elegant Hotel Bel Air dineL.A. menu last night. It included eight courses, each beautifully plated to match the gorgeous outdoor dining room. Each dish came on a different unique choice of plates and the entire menu showcased California Latin heritage. We began with a melon agua fresca and uni with a tamarind chili pate de fruit; then came a 21 day dry aged kanpachi crudo with avocado, coriander and carrot aguachile; caramelized corn salad with avocado crema, tomatoes and a black lime vinaigrette; Alaskan halibut with zucchini, huitlacoche and flor de calabasa; Sonoma lamb birria with a cabbage slaw; Sonoma Liberty Mayan duck with a mole verde and grilled stone fruit and for dessert a Mezcal chocolate flan with sweet frozen corn kernals. We were also presented with a pretty packaged box full of cookies to take home. This meal is both incredible for your stomach and your pocketbook at only $99 per person. If you have always wanted to visit Wolfgang Puck’s beautiful al fresco restaurant in Bel Air now is the perfect time to have a special meal with a friend or plan a romantic date night.

DineL.A. runs through July 26.
