New Toluca Lake Spa Offers Eco-Friendly Treatments

Film and television writer Mike Soccio never thought he would co-own a spa and nail salon, but then he married his wife Ann and they opened The Room Organic Spa at in Toluca Lake.

“My wife owned a successful spa in Thailand, so we decided to bring her awesome massage skills and business acumen to where we live, here in beautiful Toluca Lake,” said Soccio.

The Room opened approximately two months ago. They offer full nail care, body massages, facials and waxing and specialize in organic products including chemical-free nail polish. 

“Many products nail salons use contain phthalate, formaldehyde and toluene,” said Soccio. “We wanted to provide a safe eco-friendly environment in our salon.”

The spa is divided into two sections, a front area with five chairs for manicures and pedicures and a serene back area with two private massage rooms and a facial/waxing room. 

Another plus for clients is free parking. In addition to free parking in the back lot, The Room pays for all metered parking for their clients. They also offer complimentary coffee, tea and beverages and snacks as well as free WiFi.

This summer, The Room is offering a special package. Clients indulging in a $35 mani-pedi can get a facial or massage for only $49. The mani-pedi includes a massage with oil-infused lotion and a free foot sea salt scrub.

The Room also rents out its space for bridal showers, birthday parties and other events. I visited the spa for a mani-pedi and purchased a massage through their $49 promotion. My manicure lasted over two weeks without a chip, pedicure is still intact and the massage was relaxing and rejuvenating. All three treatments came in well under the cost of a massage at most spas.
