Alameda County Fair: Feed The Need; Con Funk Shun; Diaper Derby
Here's what's coming up this week at the Alameda County Fair.
PLEASANTON, CA — The Alameda County Fair opens this week at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Fairgoers can look forward to saving money by donating to the annual Feed the Need Food Drive. Kids are free on Thursday, seniors enjoy free admission on Friday and military veterans get one free fair admission with valid identification every day.
This week, Morris Day & The Time, Con Funk Shun, Queen Nation (Queen Tribute), The Tubes and Purple Reign will perform. Enjoy horse racing on June 28 through June 30.
Don’t miss out on the Hippity Hop Races, Diaper Derby, the National Anthem Contest and the Action Sports Arena performances. The fair runs through July 8 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

Hours: 11 a.m. -11 p.m. daily (except July 4th when the fair closes at 6 p.m.)
Carnival Hours: Wed-Thurs 12 p.m. to closing, Fri-Sun 11 a.m. to closing, July 4 fair opens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Horse Racing: June 28-30, July 1, 4, 6-8
Big O Tires FREE Concerts: 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. nightly. "Born Free" video & fireworks show immediately following at Concert Lawn.

- Feed the Need Food Drive, which benefits the Alameda County Community Food Bank presented by Lucky California: June 27 — Bring 4 non-perishable food items and receive FREE admission & $1 rides, UNTIL 5 p.m.
- First Responder's Day: July 4 – Free admission with valid identification, UNTIL 3 p.m.
- Military Appreciation — One FREE Fair admission with valid Military ID, ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
