PLEASANTON, CA — Tickets are on sale for the Museum on Main's annual Ghost Walk — a Halloween-season tradition that takes the mystery-curious on a guided tour of downtown Pleasanton's haunts.

The family-friendly event, held for more than 15 years, will run four nights in 2022, Oct. 14-15 and Oct. 21-22. A virtual experience also is planned.

At the 10 stops throughout the two-hour, in-person tour, attendees will be met by actors playing the roles of the various town ghosts, bringing to life the legendary tales.

"Ghost Walk has successfully brought the haunted side of Pleasanton to ‘life’ through the stories and experiences collected over the years from psychics, ghost hunters and downtown merchants and workers," said Rachel Brickell, the museum's director of education. "It is a unique experience, more spooky than scary, with lots of atmosphere and no jump scares.”

This year the museum is again partnering with City of Pleasanton’s Creatures of Impulse teen improv group to provide actors for the in-person tours.

“The improv students have been a wonderful addition to Ghost Walk. They bring so much energy to the program and we can’t wait to share this year’s talent with participants,” the museum's incoming executive director Sarah Schaefer said.

Ghost Walk tickets sell out every year, so the museum encourages those who want to participate in-person to purchase their tickets early.

Tours leave every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — rain or shine— from the Museum on Main at 603 Main St. in downtown Pleasanton.

Tickets for the in-person, walking tour are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger.

The virtual experience will be Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $25 per screen.

The virtual version "is a great option for those with mobility issues or who live far away from Pleasanton, but still want to participate," museum officials said. "It will highlight the stories and histories of nine haunted locations downtown and share evidence of the paranormal that was captured on recent Ghost Walks and in paranormal investigations."
