PLEASANTON, CA — Alberto's Cantina in downtown Pleasanton reopened Friday after health inspectors shut it down last week. The Alameda County Environmental Health Department reported finding dead cockroaches during a visit to the restaurant at 435 Main St.

The bar was open Friday afternoon and the kitchen was set to open at 6 p.m. that night, said General Manager Rene Lopez. The cantina passed a second follow-up inspection Friday morning.

It did not pass a follow-up inspection last week, he said.

Lopez thanked customers for their patience and said he's happy to buy customers a margarita and give them a tour of the kitchen if they pay Alberto's Cantina a visit.

Pleasanton Weekly first reported the restaurant's closure last Wednesday. Lopez said earlier this week that the restaurant was taking its time to complete a deep clean and make repairs ahead of its next inspection.
