Assistance League Helps Foster Children in Tri-Valley

Assistance League Amador Valley in the community

Assistance League® of Amador Valley has provided backpacks filled with basic essentials to graduating high school foster youth who will be going off to college in the fall. These children have benefitted from the services of The Gathering Place, a visitation center for families with foster children. The Gathering Place provides a home-link while modeling parenting skills in a supervised family-like setting. Their goal is to develop skills needed to have the child return home. Cooking together, doing homework, playing games, reading together, and caring for one another are all practiced in a safe environment. If counseling is required, it is provided as well. Assistance League of Amador Valley is proud to be able to support these high school graduates who will be moving on to college. We wish them well.
