'Bingo, Bourbon & BBQ' Will Benefit 2 Employees With Rare Cancers
The Pleasanton event will help Kyle Henricksen, a police officer, and Ben Jacobs, who is a utilities operator.

PLEASANTON, CA — A fundraiser scheduled in August will benefit two Pleasanton employees who are battling rare cancers. The Pleasanton Police Officers Association, along with the support of the AFSCME Local 955, are hosting "Bingo, Bourbon & BBQ" to raise money for Kyle Henricksen and Ben Jacobs.
In 2018, Henricksen, who is a police officer, was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer which had metastasized to his stomach lining. Since his diagnosis, he has been undergoing intensive treatment. A GoFundMe page was created to help Henricksen and his family.
Jacobs, who is an employee for the City of Pleasanton Utilities Division, is also undergoing chemotherapy and eventually a marrow transplant after he was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called myelodysplastic syndrome. A GoFundMe page created for Jacobs and his family was launched in February.
