Car Struck By Train In Pleasanton
The railroad crossing signal appeared to be working properly, police said.
PLEASANTON, CA — A car collided with a moving freight train at the St. Mary Street railroad crossing at about 3 p.m. Monday, according to Pleasanton police.
The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured, but the car sustained significant front-end damage.
Police said the railroad crossing signal appears to have been working properly.

The train blocked the St. Mary Street and the Santa Rita Road railroad crossings for about two hours, while Union Pacific rail inspectors determined the tracks were not damaged. Pleasanton police are investigating the incident and urge anyone with information about it to call the department at (925) 931-5100.
