Celebration Of Life Planned For Pleasanton Woman Who Lived To Be 101
In recent years, Eleanor Charlotte St. Dennis was known for crocheting and donating more than 300 baby blankets to ValleyCare.

PLEASANTON, CA — Eleanor Charlotte Martinson St. Dennis (July 11, 1915 – March 10, 2017) passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017, at the age of 101, with her family by her side. Ellie, one of four children, was born in Tacoma, Washington to Anna and Charles Martinson who were immigrants from Sweden. She graduated from Lincoln high school in Tacoma and spent most of her working life doing accounting and as an administrative assistant. She also served a term as the President of the American Business Women’s Association chapter in Saddleback, CA.
In 1941, she married Roy St. Dennis and they lived up and down the west coast until Roy’s passing in 1990. Ellie had many interests in her life but cooking, golfing, and knitting/crocheting were her favorites. In recent years she crocheted more than 300 baby blankets and donating them to ValleyCare and other hospitals in the local area.
Ellie stayed mentally sharp and engaged in the lives of her children and grandchildren through email and text on her iPad. Ellie is survived by her sister Ellen, her two sons Jerry and Tom, and three grandchildren Joy, Clay and Matt.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 20 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary located 4167 First St. in Pleasanton to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Deaf Plus Adult Community: 5437 Central Avenue #4, Newark, CA (deafplus.wixsite.com/deafplusadults).
