Christesen's Holding Liquidation Sale After 92 Years
The western store in downtown Pleasanton is looking to sell all of its merchandise through May 26.

PLEASANTON, CA — Christesen's Westernwear and Saddlery will close its doors after 92 years.
A liquidation sale began Thursday morning at the store at 633 Main St. All inventory plus store fixtures and equipment are up for grabs at reduced prices, according to a flyer for the sale.
Christesen's has been a pillar of the Pleasanton community and outlasted World War II and the Great Depression, but the downtown environment has changed, said Andrew Cox, business consultant for Christesen's, in an email. More people now prefer to visit and dine in at restaurants and retail shopping has become less popular.
