"Dear Father": The Writers' Spotlight
Ishmeet Dhillon celebrates Father's Day with a poem dedicated to dads!

Dear Father
Dear Father,
My coolest friend,
You’ve been there since day one,
Oh, the times that we have spent.
All the trips that we have taken,
Those near and those far,
I remember you getting mad at me,
For spilling goldfish in the car.

All the late nights we have had,
Watching movies until we sleep,
Memories like these with you,
Are the ones I like to keep.
Hugging me every morning,
And embracing me every night,
Telling me your old stories,
Teaching me how to fly a kite.

Helping me on my homework,
When I need a helping hand,
Always pushing me to do my best,
Telling me to not subtract, but to add.
Walking with me to the park,
When I want to go outside,
Playing sports with me in the hot sun,
Until we’re completely fried.
I appreciate all that you do for me,
All your hard work, love, and affection,
Always putting me on the right path,
To make sure I go in the right direction.
Dear Father,
The coolest guy I know,
Happy Father’s Day to you,
You deserve all the happiness in the world.
