The Fast Track to a Healthy Meal from a Local Boy

Danville native Billy Anderson helps you solve the good-food-on-a-hectic-schedule problem.

Q: What’s your background, Billy, and what led you to start your GoFresh shops?

A: I have been an entrepreneur for the past several years, involved with various industries and now the health and wellness industry. Naomi Tostado, my business partner and fiancée, has a background in food. I had been competing in men’s physique shows and noticed that competitors were meal prepping and that it was becoming a trend. We knew how much time it takes to meal prep all the food you need for the week and how hard that is for busy people.

One of the most significant issues for people was eating healthy, so we wanted to solve that problem.

That's how GoFresh was started in September 2014. We wanted to create a store where you didn't have to pre-order and wait a week for your food to show up. Our mission was to create a healthy fast food experience that allowed customers to come in and quickly grab a meal and drink for the day, or to go and load up on all their meals for the week; a one stop shop for all your healthy eating needs.

Q: Give us a few examples of a typical GoFresh customer and how you can help them.

A: We help so many different types of customers; everyone from extreme athletes to senior citizens to young children. Our focus is to make healthy food taste great so that everybody can enjoy it and benefit from our meals. We have customers that enjoy one meal a week or every meal every day from one of our shops in Modesto, Turlock and Pleasanton.

Q: Can you tell us the vision you have for the future of healthy, convenient food?

A: Our vision for Gofresh is to create sustainable, healthy eating options for our communities. We don’t believe in dieting. We believe in creating a lifestyle around whole health and we do that by constantly updating our menus, so there is always something new for our customers to enjoy. We will continue to develop our foods and cultivate our relationships with the farms and ranches that we work with to more positively impact our environment and community.

We’re committed to expanding our menu to give folks who practice every style of healthy eating something on our menu that works for them.

Q: What types of activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

A: Outside of training at the gym and learning more about nutrition, my other big passion is helping people on their entrepreneurial journey. I host a bi-monthly event called Conversations About Content, which helps small businesses promote digital branding and spotlights brands in the community that are already building great brands. I also love spending time with Naomi.
