PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters responded to a report of a fire near Foothill High School in Pleasanton Tuesday morning.

The fire was initially reported around 8:40 a.m., according to PulsePoint. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department said abandoned buildings were in the area of the fire.

The fire department initially reported via smartphone app PulsePoint that a fire was burning at the campus, but Pleasanton Unified School District spokesperson Patrick Gannon confirmed that the school was not affected; a fire had been reported across the street and firefighters were dispatched to the school because it was a nearby landmark.
