With Their Coach Recovering, Foothill High Shooting 3s to Help
The Foothill High's boys basketball team will shoot 3-pointers for their assistant coach Wardell Jefferson-Collins, who is recovering from kidney transplant surgery.

It's usually the coach that supports the players, but for Foothill High's boys basketball team they are supporting their coach in need.
In December, Foothill High boys basketball assistant coach Wardell Jefferson-Collins had kidney transplant surgery after having double kidney failure last year.
He's recovering well, but is facing a financial burden from the medical costs. To help out, Cheryl Bates Rhoades, whose son played for Jefferson-Collins, has organized a shoot-a-thon fundraiser for the Foothill High basketball team on Saturday.

"He is a great young man," Rhoades said. "He's always been an inspiration to the team and is a great role model."
Players on the boys basketball team have gathered sponsors and will shoot 100 3-pointers at Foothill on Saturday, with each made shot making money for Jefferson-Collins.
