Foothill Teens Host Virtual Workshops for Youth
Four students from Foothill High School host virtual writing and visual art workshops for the community.

Annika Gangopadhyay, Arya Krishna, SaiPraharshitha Srinivasan, and Samyukta Chittoor are four sophomores from Foothill High with a love for art and giving back to the community. The organization they created, Pens and Paints Foundation, has been engaging youth in the arts with workshops, contests, and galleries for almost a year. Working with afterschools, teachers, and school clubs, Pens and Paints Foundation has continued to foster creativity in students from kindergarten to middle school.
As part of a winter program, Pens and Paints Foundation is hosting two workshops (one for visual arts and one for writing) on every other Saturday with the aim of engaging kids during this pandemic and cultivating their creativity. Each workshop features winter-themed activities. Their most recent set of workshops, on November 21st, presented participants of a wide age range with enjoyable crafts and writing strategies. Participants can also submit the pieces they create during each lesson for an online poll on the organization's social media. Followers will vote on the submitted entries, and winners receive a special mention on the nonprofit's Facebook and Instagram.
Pens and Paints Foundation will continue hosting this winter program until December 19th. The next session, scheduled for December 5th, is currently open for sign-ups. To sign up, please visit the links on the above flyer. The required materials for each workshop will be updated this week.
