Funeral Services For Teen Killed In Livermore Crash

PLEASANTON, CA — Funeral services have been scheduled for a Pleasanton teen who died during a car crash in Livermore on Nov. 22. Violet Campbell, 16, who attended Village High School in Pleasanton, was killed when the SUV she was riding in left the road and rolled several times.

Services have been scheduled for Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Pleasanton, according to Campbell's family. A roadside memorial was placed near the scene of the collision on Thursday. Grief counseling is being offered this week to students in Pleasanton who knew Campbell.

A GoFundMe page established to help Campbell’s family with the funeral expenses has garnered more than $6,500 since it was posted on Nov. 24. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested individuals make a donation to one of two local organizations including, The HUME Center and ATA (Addiction Treatment Alternatives).

A second passenger critically injured in the crash died this week. Livermore native Alexys 'Lexy' Garcia, 25, who was in a medically-induced coma at Eden Medical Center for a week, died Wednesday night after succumbing to her injuries, according to her family. She suffered brain trauma, a broken pelvis and broken bones.

The driver, Livermore resident Lauren Davis, 26, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and felony DUI causing injury/death, according to the California Highway Patrol. Davis suffered minor injuries in the deadly collision. Davis has two previous arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to an NBC report. CHP officials said she has been released from jail pending further investigation.
