Happiness 'Sprinkled' At Amador Valley High School

Thursday's sprinkling was meant to let students know that they are welcome and cared for.

PLEASANTON, CA — Parents, guardians and staff at a high school in Pleasanton are aimed to lift the spirits of their students Thursday just before they leave for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Community members and school staff at Amador Valley High School were "sprinkling happiness" on students starting at 8 a.m. as the students arrived at school.

The "sprinkling" was in the form of signs meant to encourage students. The signs were held by school staff, parents and guardians in bright-colored clothing.

School officials said the Thanksgiving holiday is a positive experience for many students, but some suffer from depression and anxiety during the break. Thursday's event was meant to let students know that they are welcome and cared for.
