I-680 Crash Victim Identified

SUNOL, CA — The young man killed in a crash on I-680 south of Pleasanton last week has been identified.

The county coroner's office says the victim was 20-year-old Samuel Zavala of Walnut Creek .

The crash was reported just before 4:30 a.m. last Thursday morning, on southbound 680 north of Koopman Road.

Zavala was ejected from his Toyota in a single vehicle rollover crash. He was rushed to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where he died of injuries, according to the CHP.
