Memorial Services for Livermore National Lab Employee Killed in Gym Collision
Kathy Baker was tragically killed when a car crashed into the LifeStyleRX in Livermore on Sept. 22.

Memorial services for Katheryn “Kathy” Baker will be held on Wednesday in Livermore, a spokeswoman at the Livermore National Laboratory said. Kathy Baker, an executive at the lab, died on Sept. 22 after tragedy struck when an elderly woman mistook the gas pedal for the brake and accelerated into the building, killing Baker and injuring five others.

Baker, 49, of Livermore, was the chief financial officer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, according to laboratory spokeswoman Lynda Seaver.

According to Seaver, memorial services are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave. in Livermore.
“Flowers should be sent to Robert Livermore Community Center,” Seaver said. “Her favorite color was purple. Please direct donations in memory of Kathy Baker to the Affordable Pet Clinic, 2630 S. Tracy Blvd., #110, Tracy, California 95376.”

LifeStyleRX in Livermore, which has been closed since the collision, was scheduled to reopen Monday at noon.
