Parents of 2-Year-Old 'Hog-Tied' at Preschool Suing Centerpointe Church

The parents are claiming that Centerpointe Christian Preschool officials knew the teacher that tied up their daughter was unlicensed and unlawfully employed.

Centerpointe Christian Preschool, which was recently cited by state officials for multiple violations, is being sued for how it handled the case of a teacher tying up a 2-year-old with masking tape, the Pleasanton Weekly reports.

The parents of the 2-year-old have filed a civil suit in Martinez, claiming that Angela Calcagno,  the teacher that put tape on their daughter, was unlicensed and unlawfully employed by the school.

The lawsuit states, according to The Weekly:

(The lawsuit) accuses Centerpointe (of)  negligence, negligent hiring and supervision, and breach of oral contract and fraud because, it claims, the school's principal assured the girl's parents the school followed the law and that only licensed providers would care for the child and that no child would be treated with violence.

Also, the suit claims that Calcagno wasn't initially punished for the violation because the school administrator, who no longer works there, was sexually attracted to her and that's why Calcagno was working at the preschool without a license.

The parents, in the suit, are asking for a jury trial and an unspecified amount of compensation and punitive damages.
