Pleasanton Activates Cooling Center

The City of Pleasanton will activate its public Cooling Center for those seeking relief from the heat as temperatures ar eexpected to rise past the century mark today.

The Pleasanton Senior Centre at 5353 Sunol Boulevard is the primary Cooling Center location and will be open from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. today. Visitors can enjoy an air conditioned venue, play games, and watch television at the Senior Center.

Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) is available to seniors 60 years and older and any ADA resident who requires a ride to a Cooling Center. Rides are free. To schedule a ride, call the Pleasanton Senior Center at (925) 931-5365.

The Pleasanton Library offers another option for a cool environment on a hot day. It is open at 400 Old Bernal Avenue until 9:00 p.m. today.
