Pleasanton Businesses Honored for Longevity

It’s tough being a small business owner. You have to gain momentum in the community,and then you have to survive economic downturns.

The Pleasanton City Council has recognized local companies for achieving 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of business in Pleasanton. The Council presented each of the businesses with a special gift to commemorate its tenure in Pleasanton.

“Pleasanton’s quality of life is closely tied to the economic vitality of our business community, and we are honored to publicly recognize these businesses’ milestones,” noted Economic Development Director Pamela Ott. “The companies represent a continuum from small, sole proprietors providing everyday services to medium sized firms making advancements in their industry to national retailers. That diversity is what makes Pleasanton’s business community as strong as it is. They have provided jobs, services and products valued by our residents and other businesses. From pretzels to pools and everything in between, we want to recognize and appreciate these businesses for their commitment to Pleasanton.”

Small businesses have generated over 65% of the net new jobs since 1995, according to the Small Business Administration.
