PLEASANTON, CA — Pans on Fire is up for sale for the second time in as many years.

Merchandise is now on sale for up to half-off.

The Pleasanton business offering cookware and cooking classes at 3059 Hopyard Road was founded in 2006 and purchased in January 2020 by owner Mona Sethi, who has not responded to a request for comment. Sethi, a longtime Pleasanton resident and former event coordinator at the store, bought the business after founder Linda Wyner announced plans to close up shop if no potential buyers came forward before her retirement.

Pans on Fire announced on its Facebook page this month that it was searching for a new owner after struggling during the coronavirus pandemic, "as we were just starting out." Pans on Fire soon pivoted to offer online cooking courses as it sought to stay in business.

"We were hoping to get through this, but have made a very difficult decision to sell it," the business wrote.

Pans on Fire is hoping to find a new owner "who is passionate about cooking, wants to run cooking school or be creative with this beautiful place and find their own niche" — to take "this small business to the next level that we envisioned when we took over this gem."

The store will close if it is unable to find a new owner soon. Anyone interested in purchasing the business may reach out to mona@pansonfire.com.
