Pleasanton is the Third Highest-Earning City in the United States?

By one measurement, a finance site says Pleasanton is the third most affluent city in the United States.

Only two cities in the United States have a larger percentage of households making more than $100,000 than Pleasanton.

That's the analysis by NerdWallet, a personal finance site, which says Pleasanton has the third most broad-based affluent population in the country.

There are 16 cities in the United States that have over 50 percent of households making more than $100,000 a year. Pleasanton is No. 3, with 59.8 percent over the $100,000 benchmark.

Pleasanton has 22.8 percent of households between $100,000 and $149,999, 14.7 percent between $150,000 and $199,999 and 22.3 percent above $200,000.

And which city is ranked No. 1 on the list? Nearby San Ramon, with 63.5 percent over the $100,000 benchmark.
