Pleasanton PD Mourns Passing Of Longtime Volunteer Annette Langer
"Our Police Department family has lost a beloved member, a dear friend and the kindest soul anyone could want to know."

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Police Department and local community are mourning the loss of a longtime volunteer who passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at her home.
Although her exact age has yet to be confirmed, it's known that Annette Langer served as a volunteer with the Pleasanton PD for over 14 years.
"It is with immense sadness that I share with the community that our Police Department family has lost a beloved member, a dear friend and the kindest soul anyone could want to know," Pleasanton Police Chief David Spiller said in a message he shared on social media. "Annette was a kind soul with a servant’s heart, she was a giver and friend to everyone."

Langer had put in more than 8,000 hours of volunteer service, "which served as a testament to her commitment, her care and her connection with the work she valued so greatly," Spiller said
"Annette will long be remembered for her quick wit, her many stories and her sense of humor that served to make others in her company so happy," the chief added. "Our hearts are with Annette’s family at this sad time and we hold them in our thoughts and prayers."

Langer hailed from Chicago before moving to the Bay Area. According to her website, prior to retirement she had a rewarding career with the federal government in jobs from court reporter to office manager. She later became a travel agent and was an avid reader and prolific author. She was a breast cancer survivor and overcame a traumatic brain injury from a head-on auto accident, according to her website.
