Pleasanton Police: Man Who Fired Rifle Rounds Into Homes Arrested

Police said about 100 rifle rounds entered nearby homes after a Pleasanton man repeatedly fired his gun inside his home.

PLEASANTON, CA — A man who was arrested on Friday in connection with numerous shots fired near homes on Arroyo Court was identified Tuesday by Pleasanton police.

Justin Michael McDaniels, 39, was booked into Santa Rita Jail and is being held without bail on charges of discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner which could result in injury or death, police said.

McDaniels was arrested after officers responded to reports about 10 p.m. of a man repeatedly discharging a firearm from inside his home on Arroyo Court. About 100 rifle rounds were fired, and several entered nearby residences, police said.

Police said there were no other residents inside the home during the incident, there were no reported injuries and no officers discharged their weapons.
