Pleasanton Teen Identified as Victim of Accident
He was killed Sunday evening near the intersection of Abbie and First streets. Police are still investigating the tragedy.

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday evening in Pleasanton was identified today by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as a teenage boy.

Officers responded at 6:20 p.m. to a crash near the intersection of Abbie and First streets, police said. A vehicle had struck a 17-year-old pedestrian, identified by the coroner’s bureau as Pleasanton resident Jorge Barraza.
Responding paramedics tried to save the teen, but he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that struck Barraza stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
