PLEASANTON, CA — It's about to get really spooky in downtown Pleasanton as the Museum on Main once again hosts the annual Ghost Walk, a two-hour guided tour of the city’s most haunted Main Street sites.

This family-friendly tour, held for over 12 years, continues to be a popular event during the Halloween season and the museum expects this year to be no different. Approximately 1,200 people join the Ghost Walk each year, with all the tour times selling out in advance, according to officials.

Geared toward kids and adults, “Ghost Walk has successfully brought the haunted side of Pleasanton to ‘life’ through the stories and experiences collected from psychics, ghost hunters, and shop workers over the years," Museum on Main executive director Jim DeMersman said. "Ghost Walk is more spooky than it is scary. It’s not a haunted house type of program where people jump out to scare you.”

Volunteer teams of "ghost hosts" lead the tours, and actors play the roles of various ghosts around town. Teen improv students from the City of Pleasanton’s Creatures of Impulse will be on hand as well.

“The improv team is a great addition to Ghost Walk. They are so fun playing the many roles of the downtown ghosts and we are pleased they will be back again this year,” DeMersman said.
