Second-Alarm Fire Causes Major Damage To Pleasanton Condos

PLEASANTON, CA — An early morning fire forced the evacuation of a condominium complex and displaced four people in Pleasanton Saturday.

According to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, the blaze started around 1 a.m., spreading to two units at the 3800 block Vineyard Avenue condo complex. It was elevated to a second-alarm fire, and crews were able to extinguish it in 20 minutes, said Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Deputy Chief Joe Testa.

“There was significant fire damage to two condos on the third floor,” Testa said. “It appears to have started on the balcony.”

Firefighters located the blaze, safely removed everyone without injury, and kept the fire from spreading to adjacent units.

Authorities were continuing to investigate the cause of the fire Saturday and did not release an estimate for the damage.
