Among those stories is the rumor of a prostitute stabbed to death in 1870 at the Pleasanton Hotel, once one of Main Street's oldest structures. Handles Gastropub sits there now.

The woman reportedly met her untimely death after an attack by a jealous customer lurking in the hallway, hiding near a mirror — the same mirror where some say they've spotted her peeking out from a corner.

Museum on Main staff report sightings of another woman who floats across the bathroom mirror, while items have been spotted moving at nearby Blue Agave Club and Towne Center Books.

Dublin's Ghostly Hound Dog, Haunted Church And Warehouse

The Dublin Pioneer Cemetery, built in 1859, is home to many Tri-Valley pioneers. While spirits reportedly float around the graveyard, perhaps none are so precious as the faithful four-legged friend of a pioneer who passed more than a century ago. City officials say the "ghostly hound dog" has been spotted roaming the lawns.

The Bay Area Paranormal Society has previously investigated reports of ghosts at the cemetery and old St. Raymond's Catholic Church, which is also rumored to be haunted. Strange voices and a playful child were overheard at the church.
Still others report hearing ghosts in homes around town at a Sierra Court warehouse.

Livermore's Gravity-Defying Hill, Interminable Light Bulb

Gravity: the invisible force that draws all matter toward the earth and keeps our feet glued to the floor. Unless you're at Livermore's Gravity Hill, that is.

Urban legend dictates that a gravitational anomaly makes it possible for large items to roll uphill at Patterson Pass Road at Mile Marker 1.57.

Gravity Hill isn't Livermore's only bizarre landmark that seems to defy all reason. Wander over to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Station 6 to get a glimpse of the Centennial Bulb, which has remained lit with minimal interruption since its 1901 installation. That makes it the oldest known working lightbulb.

The "Lost" Girl of Danville
Have you ever spotted a female figure lurking around the streets of Danville one moment, then gone the next? You wouldn't be the first.

Keeliy of GhostsOfAmerica.com writes that they once saw a girl staring at them while attending a 4th of July parade with her grandfather. When approached and asked for her name, the girl said she was lost.

But when Keeliy took her by the hand, led her to their grandfather and explained that the girl was lost, their grandfather asked, "What girl?"

"I looked behind me and she wasn't there," Keeliy wrote. "This has happened to all my friends."
Another poster on the site, Anji, believes they saw the same figure at a nearby location in 2014. Anji was exiting through a half-shuttered glass door in the back of a restaurant and spotted a woman's legs peeking through the unobstructed lower end, apparently trying to enter the restaurant from the outside. They carefully opened the door to avoid hurting her.

"But there was no one on the porch," Anji wrote. "No one at all anywhere near. No cars parked, nothing around the bush."

The Tall, Skinny Man Of San Ramon

Several GhostsOfAmerica.com users report spotting the supernatural figure of a tall, thin man wandering around San Ramon homes.

A couple reports separately awakening to find a tall, bearded man in a trench coat lurking at the edge of their bed, staring down at them. Another woman claims she woke up in the middle of the night to find a disturbing scene — a tall, skinny man was crying and covering his face as a rope began to loop around his neck.

One user reports hearing footsteps in their hallway while home alone. They opened their bedroom door to find a shadow moving down the hall as an unusually tall man headed down the stairs, smirking. One parent even reports that their son was in pain for days after chasing a tall, thin figure and getting kicked in the chest by it.
