Support our troops with holiday comfort and joy!
Pleasanton Military Families is accepting greeting cards and donations from the community to fill holiday care packages for our troops.
It's getting to be that time of year again....Pleasanton Military Families is making plans to send care packages and greeting cards to our troops who are overseas during the holiday season. The goal for this pack out is to send over 100 packages filled with a variety of items that will ensure our troops know Pleasanton is thinking about them during the holidays and grateful for their service. Can you make a donation or write a greeting card? Then this project is for you! Our soldiers, sailors, marines, coast guard and air men LOVE care packages from home and handmade cards from kids and families. So get out your sharpies, get those cards made and make a date to go shopping for any of these much needed items (please deliver them by November 19th to 3111 Half Dome Drive in Pleasanton).
- beef jerky
- individual packages of nuts, sunflower seeds, trail mix, dried fruit (please no glass containers and no large "Costco-sized" packages).
- small plastic jars of peanut butter
- individual packages of Gatorade/Crystal Light etc
- hard candies but no Jolly Ranchers
- gum, mints, licorice
- baby wipes (in packages not tubs)
- 2 oz energy shots, cocoa mix
- 1-2 oz size hand sanitizer for troops to carry with them
- foil packages of tuna, chicken
- Greeting Cards, home made or purchased
All donations should be delivered to 3111 Half Dome Drive in Pleasanton (near Western Garden Nursery) no later than Thursday November 19th.
