Things to Know in Pleasanton This Week: April 29 - May 4

ArtBlock at 1st Wednesday Street Party

ArtBlock began in 2012 as a new feature of downtown's 1st Wednesday Street Parties and features local artists, sculptors and jewelry crafters, all who specialize in exquisite, hand-made arts and crafts. During each event, a pre-selected artist will be in attendance to offer live demonstrations and discuss their work. ArtBlock will occur through the duration of each event on Angela Street at the same location as the Pleasanton Saturday Farmer’s Market. The street will be closed to traffic from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a large area reserved for both kids and adults to create their own chalk art. AVHS Softball - Breast Cancer Awareness Game

Amador Valley High School's Varsity and JV softball teams will host their 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness game on Thursday. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. and the game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. .

Ramayana Preview

Pleasanton Civic Arts and the SF Shakespeare Festival present a “SNEAK PEEK” of
Ramayana, a centuries old epic tale based on the Sanskrit classic. Prince Rama joins forces with Hanuman the flying monkey to rescue his love, Princess Sita, from the evil Demon King Ravana! 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pleasanton Library.
