'Total Recall' Actress Deborah Carrington Dies In Pleasanton

The stuntwoman died at 58.

PLEASANTON, CA -- Deborah Carrington, the actress and stuntwoman, who took over Hollywood when she played Thumbelina in the hit action movie "Total Recall," died recently in Pleasanton.

The New York Times reported Carrington died March 23 at 58 years old.

The Times reported her career started when she replied to an advertisement asking for dwarf actors.

Born in San Jose, Carrington who was known for her size, appeared in numerous television shows and movies including "Return of the Jedi," "In Living Color" and "Men in Black."

But, her biggest role was in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie where she acted out a "violent" scene, the Times said.

"During a mob scene, Thumbelina stabs one of the movie's villains with a bowie knife before jumping on a table and mowing down the police with a machine gun," the Times reported.
