Vegetation Fire Reported In Pleasanton

The fire began at the site of a homeless encampment, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department said.

PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters battled a vegetation fire Saturday morning at the site of a homeless encampment in Pleasanton.

No injuries were reported, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

The blaze was reported near the old railroad tracks in the area of Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue just after 5 a.m., LPFD said. Smoke hung over the area as the fire spread to eucalyptus trees. The encampment also caught fire.

The was under control within about 10 minutes, but firefighters remained on scene to get rid of smoking logs and trees, LPFD said.
