Funeral Planned For Sandra Thorne

PLEASANTON, CA — Funeral services and a vigil are planned this week in honor of Sandra (Sandi) Roy Thorne, who died last week at age of 80, after a battle with cancer. The wife of Pleasanton Mayor Jerry Thorne passed away at home surrounded by her family following a cancer treatment, according to city officials.

The Connecticut native would have turned 81 this month. Thorne was on the Board of Directors at the Museum on Main, and she was also actively engaged in the Assistance League of Amador Valley. The couple had been married more than 40 years.

City officials said a vigil will be held at Graham Hitch on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and the funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Pleasanton. The burial will be private for her family.
